PATIENT SAFETY SPECIALIST: This position is responsible for reviewing and following up on submitted safety events including assignment of severity, initial investigation, routing of events to Patient Safety staff, managers, Risk Management and others, and identification of trends and issues for communication and follow-up. Assists in coordination of Root Cause Analysis and other process improvement efforts as well as research and interpretation of regulatory requirements related to patient safety. Prepares and conducts training for staff and managers and represents Patient Safety group on teams or committees as assigned
EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare, or Business Registered Nurse Current Ohio licensure
EXPERIENCE: 3-4 years Clinical in Nursing
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of JCAHO standards and other regulatory requirements related to patient safety; Microsoft Office; internet research skills.
