Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients and families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. Essential duties include patient documentation, direct patient care and assessment, medication administration, discharge planning, community resource referral and education, actively participates in the quality improvement process and involved in learning and self improvement.
The Med-Psych Unit is a dedicated location and specialized model for care of patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric or behavioral health care needs.
The position is 40 hours a week, 2-8 hour shifts and 2-12 hour shifts, rotating day/evening or rotating nay/nights, rotating weekends and holidays.

Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
1 year RN experience required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from accredited program preferred.
Minimum of Diploma/Associateâ€™s Degree in nursing from accredited program.
Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
For external candidates:
Experienced nurses with Associate Degrees/Diploma in Nursing will commit at the time of hire to complete a Bachelors of Science Degree (BSN) or higher in nursing within 5 years of hire.
