DIRECTOR NURSING: The Director, Nursing has responsibility and accountability for leading, coordinating, facilitating, and monitoring patient care services and administrative aspects of nursing practice within the assigned area of responsibility. The area(s) of responsibility may include a specific nursing/patient care specialty unit/area, or a matrixed function across several units. This accountability encompasses patient care outcomes, service excellence, human resource issues, fiscal management, quality improvement, compliance, and communication. The Director is also responsible, to the site CNO for medical staff relations within their areas.
EDUCATION: Master's Degree in Nursing Or Masters degree in related field with BSN. Certification in related specialty within two years of assuming position or within 6 months of becoming eligible for the exam (whichever comes first) Registered Nurse EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years Management in Nursing 3-4 years Clinical in Nursing
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for nursing, continuous improvement methodology in a healthcare environment, healthcare economics, and healthcare policy.
